Apella Beach on Karpathos island

Apella is the most beautiful beach on Karpathos. The crystal clear waters, the white sand and the wild landscape capturing every visitor. This exotic place is ideal for diving and fishing. The beach is about 20km from Pigadia, the capital of the island.

On the way just before the beach, there is hidden in the pine trees the cave church of St. Luke. Remarkable frescoes have been preserved in the temple. In the depths of the cave there still runs water, which may have been the main reason for the church to be built.
