Giannitsa Clock Tower

The Clock Tower built by the Ottomans, is located in the center of the city of Giannitsa.
According to an inscription placed on two marble slabs on its eastern side, it was built in the year 1167, in 1754 by Sheriff Ahmet, a descendant of Gazi Evrenos. The tower was adjacent to a mosque that no longer exists and serves military purposes, as the Turks could control the whole area from its windows.
It is a rectangular building has a height of 25 meters and is built of stone by the first 4 m and then brick.
Purchased by the City Giannitsa and proposed restoration and conversion into a museum of history of the city of Giannitsa.
