Red Nudist Beach

Crete ranks first in offering sandy beaches to those wishing to live outside the standardized moral rules of modern society. The Red Beach used to be one of the favorite destinations for hippies in the 60’s and 70’s. Many fans still come to the beach since that time. Located in southern Crete and some 25 min away from Matala.
The beach still remains nudism- friendly (especially its northern part). Indeed, the beach has been voted as one of the top nudism-friendly beaches in the world.
Red Beach is hidden behind a rocky hill and a fence, providing a little heaven for both nude and naked swimmers. Tranquil and isolated, you need to take your own towel and provisions when visiting for a swim in the hot summer season.  Moreover, the Red Beach and its surrounding area is protected under the Natura 2000 international program.
