“The house with the rose” or “The red house” belonged to Greek painter Chrysoula Zogia, who was born in 1914 or 1917 in Volos city. After her death in 1992, according painter’s will it was decided to give her house to the Municipality of Volos to be preserved and used as a museum-gallery.
The approximately 250 works of the painter exhibited at the museum are oil paintings. The gallery includes portraits, paintings with still life, well-known houses of the Volos and Pelion, countryside, blooming courtyards, interior houses and interior-exterior temples. Particularly interesting are the beautiful internal and external frescoes of the house, while the fact that the furniture of the house, its personal notes, paintings, photographs and objects are all placed in the place that she put it shortly before she died.
