Polygyros is the capital of the prefecture of Chalkidiki and is located in its geographical center. It is built in the southern part of Holomontas, at an average altitude of 550 m. At the north of Polygyros, slopes are planted with oak trees that form a wonderful forest.
Above Polygyros is an impressive conical hill, the famous Ai-Lia, with the homonymous chapel at its top. To the south of Polygyros, low hills, ravines and streams lead to fertile slopes where the huge olive grove of Polygyros spreads and the settlements of Kalyves and Gerakini are spread out on the coast.
