What is the Athens Festival? The “Hellenic Festival” is a limited company established in 1998 for the organisation of music, theatre, and other cultural events, the publication and distribution of periodicals, books and other types of publications, and the creation of audiovisual material for the promotion of its events. A great celebration that has lasted 56 summers, and that has hosted some of the leading lights of theatre, music and dance. Athens & Epidaurus Festival retain a special privilege: to serve a key area of culture, a field that is of paramount importance for the future of education and cultivation, and for the forging of a modern identity. “The year 2017 will go down in history as one of new beginnings as far as the Festival is concerned.
