Birth Place Of Georgios Karaiskakis

It is located near the monastery of Agios Georgios in Mavrommati of the Municipality of Mouzaki, where, according to tradition, there was born “the son of kalogria”, General Georgios Karaiskakis, a prominent personality with an important contribution to the war of 1821. It is 7 km above Mavrommati in the mountain and the approach of the visitors is made of asphalt road and with big tourist buses. The Georgios Karaiskakis Museum in Mavrommati exhibits rare exhibits among them and personal items of the hero.
