The entomological museum of Volos is unique in Greece. Its founder is Dr. Athanasios Koutroumbas, who, during his school years, began collecting nocturnal lepidoptera as a hobby, while gradually his collection grew significantly and gained a scientific character. Most of the insects are butterflies and belong to more than 35,000 species, subspecies and races. It is worth noting that there are exhibits from all the continents. All exhibits are categorized by continent, insect class, family, genus and species.
This is a long-standing private effort that constantly requires systematic engagement. So, reasonably, the Volos Intumalogical Museum is included in the book of Greek records.
