Vathi Beach, Gythio Lakonia

Vathi is one of the most beautiful beaches of Laconia prefecture, endless, with white sand, without abrupt depth, encircled by dense vegetation. In its crystal clear sea, they give birth to their little ones the Caretta-Caretta turtles. Volunteers point to the incubation sites and those lucky to guard at night can see infants heading for the sea. On the Gytheion-Areopolis road we follow the sign to Vathi. The road to the left ends at the settlement of Vathi with the huge beach and one of the legendary camping sites of the area with the quiet bar by the river and the stone bridge.
