Water Museum Edessa

Here, the water has written history: Salamassis aleyromilos, Perchesmalis sisamotrivio, Yannakis Watermill, Kannavourgio. The power of water was driving the mills, the pre-industrial workshops and the 6 factories that operated here in the 19th century. Some of them can be admired by the visitor today in the city’s Outdoor Water Museum, one of its most interesting sites. Visible is the Yannaki watermill, which keeps you surprised by an aquarium-hermitage. It is the first in Greece with freshwater fish, but also snakes, eels, crabs to crocodiles.
