The Assumption of Virgin Mary is the second oldest church on the island and was built behind the port in 1828.
It is a sandy beach along its length with the salt-trees offering generously their dew. Ideal for all ages, even for young children as it has shallow and warm waters. A large part of the beach is organized with sun loungers and umbrellas.
The Cathedral of the Catholics in Syros, Saint George, dominates the highest point on the hill of Ano Syros. It was built around 1200 and has since received many renovations.
